My name is Denice Rembert, and I am a highly qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for the Department of Transportation (DOT) by NAADAC. I am recognized internationally by AADAA holding International Reciprocity Consortium. I am also a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Prime for Life instructor via NAADAC.

In Addition to my professional qualification/certifications, I hold an MBA in Business Administration and an MS in Addiction Studies which has equipped me with a comprehensive skill set that enhances my ability to provide expert guidance and support in the field of addiction.

OUR MISSION

Nature’s Blessing LLC

Nature’s Blessing LLC was founded in 2019, right before the Covid-19 pandemic struck. Although many businesses faced dormancy during the height of the pandemic, this period allowed us to gain a deep understanding of the needs of the people during these challenging times with drug use and isolation becoming significant issues, Nature’s Blessing LLC emerged.

We worked with diverse populations, including people without homes, veterans, individuals living with HIV, and both federal and state prisoners, helping them get their lives back on track. It was a long and sometime difficult road, but with love and perseverance, we were able to tackle the challenges.

Our mission is to help individuals become the best versions of themselves by connecting them to the resources that are available. We prioritize public safety and well-being, dedicating ourselves to supporting people through continuous education and staying informed about the latest developments and available resources. Our goal is to assist individuals in addressing their needs.

What is a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP)?

A person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and /or alcohol regulation and makes education, treatment, follow-up testing, and continuous care recommendations.

What is a Safety Sensitive Position?

Any commercial transportation job function including but not limited to operating a commercial vehicle, mechanical maintenance of described vehicles, vessels, transporting hazardous material or containers maintaining the location of stored hazardous material and armed security.

How long is the SAP process?

The length of the substance- abuse SAP process varies from person to person. It depends on the severity of use which is guided by the DSM-5 criteria, and the level of care, which is determined by the ASAM guidelines. The time from is specific to each individual and severity of use and can only be determined by a screening/assessment.

What is the assessment/screening process?

An assessment is a screening tool used to determine severity of mental health/substance use and to identify the least restrictive level of care needed for the individual.

What is SAP referral

After the screening is completed, the next step is to conduct a thorough
evaluation of all the information collected which provides an overview of six
dimensions. This information is reviewed, and once a diagnosis is made a recommendation will follow. This begins the referral process where the SAP aligns the individual with the most appropriate level of care to address their
specific needs.
